What Jeffrey Epstein’s brother just said is very telling.
And we’ll get to that quote in a moment. But let’s first lay out some of the context that quote needs to be understood in.
I didn’t want to keep coming back to the Epstein thing, as I’ve already published a few pieces on that subject here recently. But new things keep developing that demand attention.
Not least of which is the report that industrial-scale sex trafficker and abuser (and Israeli intelligence asset) Ghislaine Maxwell might be about to be ‘pardoned’.
That would really be the cherry on top of this whole shit-cake.
And that possibility emerged amid the ongoing – and horrendously poor – attempts at damage control by President Trump and MAGA.
After the catastrophically misjudged handling of the Epstein case by the FBI, DoJ and the Trump administration, Trump’s own tone-deaf rants and deflections have continued – each one making him look more and more like a sex offender being questioned by Lieutenant Colombo.
This weekend he tried to run away and seek refuge at his golf courses in Scotland: but the Epstein questions unfortunately followed him.
And his responses were as bad as the previous ones. This time he basically resorted to trying to redirect everyone’s attention onto Bill Clinton instead of himself – which we’ll come back to, because that’s interesting in itself for historic reasons.
But Trump is now claiming that Epstein evidence can’t be released because the Democrats have put “phony” information in there (that would presumably implicate him).
He seems to have taken this tactic from Alex Jones, who has been engaged in similarly tortuous mental gymnastics ever since the DoJ tried to draw a line under the whole Epstein affair weeks ago. Alex Jones looks like someone in the middle of a mental breakdown, as he lunges desperately from theory to theory, trying to make it all make sense.
The obvious question: if the Democrats had incriminating evidence against Trump, why wouldn’t they have used it against him during the Biden administration or during last year’s election?
Well, the answer should be fairly obvious: because it’s not only Trump who would be exposed.
And why didn’t the information get released during the first Trump administration by Trump himself? You know, the administration during which Epstein was actually arrested and later suicided?
But the fact that President Trump is trying to turn this into another Democrat conspiracy is an obvious sign that he’s running out of tricks. Which was even more evidenced in recent days when his administration decided to revive the whole Russia Gate thing – clearly as a distraction from the Epstein business.
So Tulsi Gabbard dutifully stepped out and accused Barack Obama of treason, claiming he was personally behind the Russia hoax – and that criminal charges will be brought against him and others.
Look, the Russia Gate thing was a fraud, yes. Mostly.
There probably was some Russian influence on both Trump and the MAGA campaign – but the accusations of ‘collusion’ were really just the Democrats being desperate to de-legitimise the Trump election victory in any way they could.
That’s old news. In fact, there was ‘collusion’ and ‘interference’ by a foreign nation in the 2016 election: but, as I argued at the time, it wasn’t really Russia – it was the Holy Land.
Or maybe it was even both, to some extent. In truth, lots of elements, lots of manipulation tactics, were in play during that election – from various sources.
And the fact that the Democrats pursued the Russian collusion angle so fanatically and yet completely whitewashed the Israel element remains highly instructive.
The irony is that the very ‘Russia Hoax’ that the Trump administration is now citing to distract people from the Epstein problem was *itself* embarked on by the Democrats to scapegoat Russia and distract everyone from Israel – and specifically the Epstein-centered blackmail operations: in which Trump himself was a highly compromised individual.
But of course they weren’t going to try to expose that – they’d have had to expose Israel, the American intelligence agencies, and potentially multiple compromised politicians and high-profile figures.
The easier option: just blame Russia.
But Trump using Russia Gate now as a distraction from Epstein is obviously disingenuous.
He’s already trying to put the Epstein scandal into the same box as the “the Russia hoax”, calling it “the Epstein Hoax”. It’s entirely transparent.
In an interview on BBC’s Newsnight, Epstein’s brother, Mark Epstein, reiterated his view that the financier/sex-trafficker was murdered – contradicting, of course, the FBI and the Trump administration’s recent assurances to the contrary.
But that’s no surprise. What’s more interesting is that he very much reinforced the view that both sides of the political divide in the US have people implicated in the Epstein web.
It has never been a left or right thing, no matter how much the right-wing has tried to pretend it’s only the other side that’s implicated.
He reflected this by relaying what his brother had allegedly said to him during the 2016 election: specifically that, if he (Jeffrey Epstein) had publicly revealed what he knew about both candidates, the entire election would’ve had to be cancelled.
It’s doubtful the election would’ve been cancelled, but it is interesting to think about what would’ve happened if both Trump and the Clintons had been publicly exposed as major sex criminals prior to the vote.
If I had to guess, I’d say Trump still would’ve won – his most zealous supporters would’ve voted for him regardless.
But, with hindsight, it does make a particular incident during the 2016 election campaign even more interesting.
An especially strange and unedifying incident, at that. Does anyone remember when Trump, during one of the presidential debates, brought out several women who’d all claimed to have been sexually violated by Bill Clinton?
It was one of the most bizarre spectacles in US political history. Certainly the weirdest moment in the history of presidential debates. “There’s never been anyone in the history of politics who’s been so abusive to women” Trump said abut Clinton from the stage.
And it was incredibly awkward: Bill Clinton was there. Presumably they had no idea the Trump team was planning that ambush – otherwise Hillary would’ve had Bill stay home, one would imagine.
We can only imagine that the Clintons and the Democrats had wished they’d thought of that first – because there were presumably any number of Trump’s sexual prey that could’ve been coaxed into making an appearance.
It isn’t clear whether Epstein and Trump were still close friends in 2016 or not. But imagine if the Clintons had asked Epstein to provide some dirt on Trump that they could use publicly.
If they didn’t, there would’ve been two reasons. First, they just never expected Trump to go that low by bringing out alleged rape victims – especially when Trump himself was as much (if not more) compromised than Bill Clinton.
And second, the reason the Democrats have never tried to publicly deal with the whole Epstein issue or promise to ‘release the files’ is because just as many people on the Democrat side would be exposed as on the Republican side.
That’s also why leading Democrats like Pelosi and Schumer are pretty much silent on the matter, even as Trump and MAGA flail around trying to exercise damage control.
You’d think now would, tactically, be the time for the Dems to attack Trump relentlessly over Epstein – but they won’t fully do that.
But the fact that a US presidential election had its two main candidates both compromised by the same sex-trafficking/blackmail operation says everything about how compromised, how corrupted, the entire Washington apparatus is.
And if Epstein and Ghislaine were tied to Israeli intelligence (as is generally implied), then it also says everything about a foreign power’s level of control over the political corridors of the world’s primary superpower.
In other words, whether Trump or the Clintons had won the election, Israel would’ve had the same blackmail leverage over whoever the winner was.
However many powerful or high-profile people are on the ‘Epstein List’ or flew on the Lolita Express, no one has been more squarely and clearly implicated than Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
Which makes Trump’s weird move in the aforementioned 2016 presidential debates all the more scummy.
He was clearly trying to preemptively protect himself by using Bill Clinton as a distraction.
It’s an old strategy. Another Israeli sex criminal, Harvey Weinstein, had people in the media who would drag out new Michael Jackson allegations every time an accuser tried to go public against Weinstein. I wrote about that here years ago.
And Trump is still at it: during his recent Scotland trip, when asked about the Epstein issue by a journalist, he again deflected by saying “I’ve never been to the island” and adding that Bill Clinton had been multiple times.
It’s basically the same thing he was trying to do in 2016: using Bill Clinton as a human shield to block any scrutiny on himself.
But karma is a bitch. And Clinton is nowhere to be seen: while Trump, who may well have used Elon Musk to cheat his way into this second presidency, might eventually wish he hadn’t bothered: as he is now having to publicly contend with these ghosts from his past and take all the heat over the Epstein problem while everyone else gets to sit it out.
And he’s doing it really badly.
